What is a secure site?
- The address of a secure site should begin with https:// (unlike http:// for normal connection). The “s” before the colon indicates that the address has a secure connection.
- Check whether the padlock is closed (the padlock is generally found in the lower bar of the screen). If it is open then the connection is not secure.
- When clicking on the padlock, check to see if the key used to cryptograph the information between your browser and the site is a minimum of 128 bits.
